General remarks on CE Certification

In accordance with the European Construction Products Directive (CPD 89/106/EEC, harmonized with German Law through the “Bauprodukte Gesetz, BauPG”), anyone who intends to have a harmonized construction product in market needs to declare conformance with the European product standards and the company-specific data sheets (Declaration of Conformity). These products are marked with the CE symbol.

in April 2001.

That means, it was not before the 30th September 2002 that the coexistence of national and CE symbols ended, and hence the CE symbol needs to be attached to the product since the 1st October 2002. The declaration of conformity of the product launcher rests on product characteristics (mean value and tolerance) which the company (or an external supplier) has determined as well as on the certification of the company’s internal process check system by a so-called “Notified Body” (NB) as named internationally by the German DIBt.
